GCE Component Support
Does your GCE AS or A Level require a school-supervised component?
Some Pearson Edexcel GCE UK A Level subjects include coursework, non-examination assessment (NEA), practical endorsements, performance work, or other school-delivered components in addition to written examinations.
Eligible teaching, supervision, preparation, and school-based support for coursework, NEA, practical, performance, and other required components is provided by TOMA BAṜRE International School (TBIS). Candidates who are not enrolled with a school able to deliver these components may be referred to TBIS for the required academic support.

- Provides teaching, supervision, assessment preparation, and school-based support required for eligible components.
Referral is not automatic. A candidate must first complete a consultation so the team can review the exact qualification, subject code, examination series, previous work, assignment requirements, and available completion time.
Which GCE UK A Level subjects include school-based components?
Art and Design
Includes a Personal Investigation and an Externally Set Assignment. Students must develop and document a portfolio of work with appropriate teacher guidance, supervision, authentication, and assessment preparation.
Design and Technology
Includes a non-examination assessment involving an independently developed design-and-make project. Students require structured teaching, project supervision, documentation, and authentication.
Drama and Theatre
Includes performance or design work and related non-examination assessment requirements. Candidates require an appropriate teaching, rehearsal, supervision, and assessment environment.
English Language
Includes a coursework or non-examination assessment component requiring students to produce, develop, and evaluate original language work under appropriate school supervision.
English Literature
Includes a coursework component based on the study and comparison of literary texts. The work must be taught, supervised, authenticated, and submitted according to Pearson requirements.
Geography
Includes an independent investigation based on fieldwork. Candidates require academic supervision and must satisfy the applicable fieldwork, investigation, authentication, and submission requirements.
History
Includes independently researched coursework. Candidates must receive appropriate teaching and supervision and complete an authenticated assignment based on an approved question or area of study.
Music
Includes performance and composition components in addition to the written examination. Candidates require appropriate preparation, recording, supervision, and submission arrangements.
Music Technology
Includes practical production, recording, or technology-based assessment components. Candidates may require access to appropriate equipment, software, supervision, and submission support.
Physical Education
Includes non-examination assessment involving practical performance and performance analysis or development work. Candidates require suitable supervision, evidence, authentication, and assessment arrangements.
GCE A Level Sciences
These qualifications include a Science Practical Endorsement. The endorsement is reported separately from the final A Level grade and requires candidates to complete the prescribed practical activities under appropriate supervision. This is not conventional written coursework. Laboratory-based practical requirements cannot be completed entirely online — TBIS will review whether appropriate practical arrangements can be provided or coordinated for the candidate.
Biology A
Includes the Science Practical Endorsement in addition to written examinations.
Biology B
Includes the Science Practical Endorsement in addition to written examinations.
Chemistry
Includes the Science Practical Endorsement in addition to written examinations.
Physics
Includes the Science Practical Endorsement in addition to written examinations.
Requirements vary by subject, specification code, examination series, and the candidate's previous study. Coursework, NEA, performances, fieldwork, and practical endorsements are governed by Pearson and JCQ requirements, including supervision, authentication, evidence, assessment, and submission deadlines. Candidates should not begin or submit work independently before receiving written guidance.

Eligible candidates may enroll with TOMA BAṜRE International School to complete the necessary teaching and school-supervised work before sitting their examinations through TOMA BAṜRE EDUCATION.
Enrollment with TBIS is separate from examination-center registration and may involve additional tuition, supervision, materials, practical, assessment, or administrative fees. Placement and completion timelines are confirmed only after an academic review.

Submit the official quote-request form with your candidate, examination, and location information. Attach your downloaded estimate when requested.

Center Review and Approval
TOMA BAṜRE EDUCATION reviews the requested entries, deadlines, supporting documentation, center capacity, and available examination-location options. The candidate then receives a detailed quote and instructions for approval and payment.
- 06
Official Examination Entry
Once the quote is approved and all required information, documents, arrangements, and payments are complete, TOMA BAṜRE EDUCATION processes the official examination entry and provides confirmation.
Planning tools and quote requests do not register a candidate or reserve an examination entry. Registration is confirmed only after TOMA BAṜRE EDUCATION completes its review, all requirements and payments are satisfied, and the official examination entry has been processed.
